A case <b>may be excluded</b> if: an alternative dx can fully explain the illness <b>OR</b> an individual w/ sx consistent w/ mpox doesn’t develop a rash w/in 5 days of illness onset <b>OR</b> high-quality specimens don’t demonstrate the presence of <i>Orthopoxvirus</i> or mpox virus or antibodies to orthopoxvirus.¹
